Have you ever noticed the cool unicode text artwork floating around twitter once in a while?  Social networking services like myspace, twitter, and facebook have kept this artform alive, yet again.  When you see them, they definitely do stand out like a sore thumb – getting your tweets noticed more than with regular tweets. I looked online but couldn’t many places that had them all in one spot, so I decided to copy and paste a bunch into a collection.  Some of the symbols used in creating these aren’t normal text characters that are easy to find with your keyboard alone, yet these artists are able to utilize them and turn them from nothing into something great.

For some reason this blog is not set up to show unicode characters, so I’ve attached them in an .rtf document that you can open in any text editor or word processor.  Click on the images below to download them all, and then you can copy/paste to retweet.  For more great #twitterart be sure to follow these twitter text artists: @tw1tt3rart @140Artist @naoshim140 All credit is due to these creative text artists. Thanks guys!

Quick Tip: After you tweet them, save them as favorites on twitter, then it’s easier to find and reuse them again later.

Are you overwhelmed by the task of maintaining a social networking / social media presence?  Maybe you haven’t even spent much time with it just yet?  In this digital age of information overload,  taking on social media can add a huge segment of tasks to your regular work week.  What many like about twitter and facebook is their ability to generate powerful word of mouth advertising all wrapped up in one package.  On the other hand, twitter and facebook can suck away all of your time if you let them. There is no magic secret that is going to turn twitter or facebook into huge cash cows or lead generators for you.  There are, however, a lot of things you can do in order to make them work for you, and with a minimal investment in time.

Looking for a great free collection of small, simple icons to link up to all of your favorite social media sites?  Here is a very clean and well rounded icon pack that I just found from Komodo Media.

Here were the icons I found useful, and you might also note that I created one more for the Behance Network, which was missing (in case anyone needs it).

Twitter is finally getting a revamp! The updated design looks pretty cool, if you ask me.  Check out this demo video for a glance at what you will be seeing soon. The new version looks so good, I might not even have to use the Power Twitter Firefox extension anymore.  Happy tweeting – don’t forgot to follow me!

Twitter Rewired

Author: ArenaCreative.com | Filed under: Graphic Design

I spent a decent amount of time working on a minor (hopefully not that annoying) Twitter avatar, with an animation.  After uploading the animated gif, it gave me an error message saying that they no longer allow them, so if you’re wondering how people still have them – it’s because they are grandfathered in.  If you want to keep your animated avatar on twitter, don’t ever replace or delete it.  Some think they are annoying, others think they’re eye catching and cool.  I was going to give using one a shot, but oh well.

If you’re a graphic designer or photographer on twitter, add me and I’ll follow you back :D
